first_imgGeorgetown Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on Friday remanded a 45-year-old labourer to prison after he was slapped with a charge of trafficking over 20 poundsRemanded: Seon Bartholomewof marijuana.Seon Bartholomew is accused of trafficking 10,832 grams of cannabis on January 9, 2019 at Charlestown, Georgetown.The prosecution is contending that the marijuana was found concealed in a suitcase, which Bartholomew admitted ownership.Defence Attorney Phillip Da Silva in a bail application, submitted to the court that offence for which his client was charged is bailable, noting that the illegal drug was not found on his person. He further told the court that Bartholomew has no pending matters nor previous convictions.However, Police Prosecutor Inniss objected to bail citing the seriousness of the offence.Magistrate Marcus remanded Bartholomew to prison and the case will continue on January 25.last_img
