They were simply too predictable.‘Every time Chelsea made a mistake, City were lying in wait to punish them.‘There is no variation to Sarri’s tactics. In a game like this, why wasn’t N’Golo Kante asked to play deeper and give Jorginho some support?’ Jorginho was left horribly exposed as Chelsea were thumped by Manchester City (Picture: Getty)Jamie Redknapp believes Maurizio Sarri could have avoided the embarrassment of Chelsea’s 6-0 defeat to Manchester City by starting N’Golo Kante in a deeper position at the Etihad.Chelsea were outclassed by City as Sergio Aguero scored his second hat-trick in three games for Pep Guardiola’s champions. Raheem Sterling (2) and Ilkuy Gundogan also netted on a disastrous afternoon for Sarri’s side. The result meant Arsenal leapfrogged Chelsea to go fifth in the Premier League table and Sarri is under enormous pressure just six months into his reign at the club.Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp has urged Sarri to be more flexible with his tactics and criticised the Italian for leaving Jorginho so exposed in the centre of the pitch.AdvertisementAdvertisementADVERTISEMENTMore: FootballRio Ferdinand urges Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop Manchester United starChelsea defender Fikayo Tomori reveals why he made U-turn over transfer deadline day moveMikel Arteta rates Thomas Partey’s chances of making his Arsenal debut vs Man City‘As he disappeared down the tunnel, Maurizio Sarri had the look of a beaten man,’ Redknapp told the Daily Mail.‘Even against a team of Manchester City’s might, Chelsea do not lose 6-0.
