TOMAS health tourism 2018, which established that multi-day visitors to Croatia in the wellness segment spend an average of 149 euros per day, while in medical spending reaches as much as 292 euros per day. According to the Croatian National Tourist Board, activities are focused on the promotion of health tourism and further expansion of the offer and achieving an adequate level of quality standards. Also, with the aim of developing and promoting health tourism, as a fast-growing product, especially important for creating motives for arrival in the pre- and post-season, the Croatian National Tourist Board participates in organizing professional and specialized events in the country and abroad on health tourism. The Croatian National Tourist Board has launched a marketing campaign to promote health tourism in 11 key emitting markets, including Germany, Slovenia, Austria, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The current health tourism campaign is focused on markets identified and recognized as promising from the position of compatibility of the characteristics of demand and Croatian supply in the segment of health tourism “Apart from foreign markets, we will also carry out activities within this campaign for tourists who are already in Croatia, and we will use geolocation settings during the campaign. In this way, we refer our messages to specific areas and to selected target groups of our guests “, said CNTB director Kristjan Staničić, adding that research shows that health tourism services in Croatia have so far been mostly used by guests from Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Germany.
