NEWHALL – A Palmdale man was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a domestic dispute in which he used a steering-wheel lock to hit another man, a sheriff’s lieutenant said Friday. The attack happened at 10:15 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot in the 2600 block of San Fernando Road in Newhall, said sheriff’s Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita station. The incident occurred after a man confronted Jose Huerta while he was sitting in his car, officials said. Cambra said the man believed Huerta was having an affair with his wife. Huerta, 34, hit the man on the head with the steering-wheel lock and chased the victim through the parking lot, Cambra said. The victim called 911 and Huerta was arrested at the scene.
